Pentax P50 Batteries?

Hi bought a P50 body to play with! (it was £4!)

Bargain not so good as after playing I suspect it may be dead.

It wont meter through the viewfinder and the winder appears stuck, but thought Id better check that the batteries are correct first before I write it off!

The manual says 2 x 1.5 volt alkaline mini batteries...

Does anyone know exactly which battery this could mean??

LR44 type batteries are needed in this camera.

Thats what I put in... I was hoping I'd got it wrong and thats why it was dead! not to worry...

ak ok hold on - cleaned the battery compartment with contact cleaner, working fine now!
