For Sale Pentax MX w/SMC-M 50mm f/2 Lens, CLA'd in 2017

Short story long: I got this MX from Goodwill last July after hear-, I mean, reading the raves about them here. When delivered, I felt that the mechanism felt a bit sluggish, so a trip to Eric Hendrickson's shop followed. Once the weather and my legs allowed, I took it out for a test shoot in midday sun, and found myself hunting around the viewfinder for the LEDs, and having a hard time determining which one was lit - with glasses, I seem to need a higher eyepoint than the MX provides. On the plus side, the C-41 roll I shot that day came back with nice prints.

So, I've mounted a 50 mm f/2 SMC-M lens on it, and it's up for sale. Between the original purchase, the cost of the CLA, and the value of the lens and strap, I've put about $125 into it; I'm asking $100 plus shipping [US only, please].

Over a week and this is still for sale? Eric Hendrickson is by far the best Pentax repairmen and the MX is hands down the best workhorse Pentax film slr. Someone needs to get this incredible SLR from Vince ASAP.

I’ve got two of these Pentax gems, and they are among my favorites. Once you pick up one of these things and use it, even for a little while, you’ll quickly understand why it is considered a classic. It is so small it is almost pocketable.

Vince, I do love the M-series and even though I already have 2 of most of the M-series and way too many 50mm lenses, I’m feeling the pangs of a GAS attack coming on. If your MX hasn’t sold by tomorrow, and my GAS pangs haven’t abated, I just might make an offer.
