I'm still experimenting with this, but yesterday I was finally paying attention and I noticed that when I was shooting hand-held in portrait orientation (shutter button down) that the combination of shutter/mirror slap & noise was lessened by quite a bit. I would be curious if this had any effect on the image, as compared to exposures made in landscape orientation.

PS; I ran some tests this afternoon to verify if there is anything noticeable in the images. I have high hopes of finding nothing significant.

I shoot landscape, 99% of the time in this "dreaded" 1/25 to 1 sec range. I'm using a Pentax 6x7 MLU, the oldest model (honeywell?).

My first tripod was a Bogen that had a weight rating of 13lbs with a 501 video head that also had a 13lb rating. With care and calm-ish conditions/solid footing I could achieve critically sharp images. It is not impossible with a very affordable tripod setup.

I upgraded for portability, weight, ease of use and stability. I wanted something that was rock solid in wind and creeks. I'm now shooting off a Sirui K-30x, Kirk L plate (shutter button points upwards) and Gitzo 3542LS. This setup is rated for 55lbs and has been rock solid in a vast variety of situations, even some that have surprised me.

As someone who uses a P67 solely in the capacity people say the camera struggles, does not work or requires a giant wooden tripod, in my opinion, a lot of the negativity is over exaggerated. Due partly to user error, or possibly a non CLA'ed camera? I'm not saying that it does not shake, but I have never really felt limited by it having the understanding that it is part of owning a P67.
