I've done some extensive researching on my issue, but haven't quite found any other threads that entail my situation and I'm a bit stumped. I just picked up a Pentax 67 MLU version and although it's in mint condition, it had been sitting around for I don't know how many years. The light seals will need replacing, which I've done on other cameras before, so no biggie. I ran a roll through the camera today and the shutter speeds are fine, but sometimes the mirror has the tendency to stick itself in the middle and won't go back up. I removed the battery a few times and the mirror went back up, but eventually that stopped working. I ran through all the speeds and it seemed fine, and left the camera sitting for 2.5-3 hours.

I came back and checked it again, and the second shutter actuation the mirror stuck itself in the middle again. I pushed the mirror down and it brought itself back up, and the camera works fine now. I'm certain that when I try again in the morning the mirror may stick itself in the middle again. I've read a lot of other threads with similar problems, but none in my case. If it's an easy fix such as cleaning the magnet electrical contacts, I can tackle that after work one day. If it's a deeper issue, I'll just drop it off at my local camera repair shop and not worry about it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Pentax 6x7 mirrors stick at half way when the battery goes flat, so changing the battery would be the first thing I'd do. There is also a small recessed button on the side to reset the camera - don't touch the mirror. Otherwise I'd just send it for a CLA and good once over from some one who knows what they are doing. If it has been sitting for years it almost certainly need re-lubricating and and all the contacts cleaning, and this will save on wear and tear and unreliability further down the line.
