Ok,

I have my new P645. Looks great, seems to work fine with this one exception. I took it out today with my first roll of film. Most of the time, everything works as I expected except for the following:

About 1/4 to 1/3 of the time, after I take a shot, the shutter will not fire again until I turn the power switch off, then back on. No blinking indicators signifying out of range. Usually these were taking very similar shots without changing any of the settings.

This is very annoying, and I doubt the on/off switch will last too long if it has to be cycled so often.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried cleaning the battery contacts?

It sounds to me like it has intermittent electrical fault, a loose connection or a dry joint in the on off switch, it shouldn't cost a great deal to get a repairer to find and correct the fault.
