I've got a beautiful Pentacon Six TL, the first medium format camera, I've ever used. And I noticed that in this version I have the opposite location of iso and film type settings compare to what I've seen in the manuals. How should I set the ISO here?

Hi Ivenhoe,
It's just a film speed reminder for you.
You can use the old DIN markings or modern ASA markings.

Please go to www.pentaconsix.com
A truly fantastic website run by a friend.
He has everything they ever made and more

Oh, I got it, it's just a reminder and doesn't change anything in the camera? Thank you for the answers!

A alternative way to handle this reminding issue was the holder at he camera back for a the flap of the film box.

^ I believe you are remarking about a different camera , the Pentacon TL's don't come with film flap holders . ( I have 3 different ones in front of me ) . Peter

My "a alternative way to handle this" was meant to refer to camera models in general.

Memory dials were not uncommon on german cameras. Pentacon for instance had such at the Praktiva IV, V and Nova ranges, But did not take it over to the L series, nor applied something else. But at the B-sereie they got a flap-holder at the back.

Who actually introduced the flap-holder?
The Canon AE-1 got it. But who was first?

My Nikon F2 has one and I am pretty sure the Minolta SRT series adopted the film box top holder fairly early...
