Penrith/Blue Mountains: Film, Chemicals, and Labs

For those in Western Sydney/Blue Mountains region,

After a long day of running around I have the following to report:

• Katoomba Camera House have:
  • 35mm Fuji Superia Xtra 3 Pack (cannot remember if 24 or 36 exp.) for $24.00
  • 35mm C41 Film Processing (Develop Only) for $7.50
  • 35mm/120 film scanning for $4.95 a roll

• Penrith Camera House have:
  • 35mm/120 Film C41 Processing (Develop Only) for $15
  • A large range of 35mm film (including Kodak Color/B&W as well as Ilford B&W) for various prices (they were closing up so I didn't get to ask)
  • Ilford Ilfosol 3 (500mL) for $31
  • Ilford Rapid Fix (1L) for price unknown (again, they were closing up so I couldn't ask)

• Katoomba Big W have:
  • 35mm Kodak Max 3 Pack (24exp.) for $22
  • 35mm Kodak Max Single Roll (24exp.) for $13
  • 35mm Kodak Disposable Camera (27exp.) for $19
  • 35mm Kodak Disposable Camera (27+12exp.) for $24

I will be back at Penrith Camera House on Monday so will hopefully get more prices then. Penrith and Katoomba Camera House are both incredibly helpful and friendly (at least in my experience). Out of the two, I would recommend the Penrith Store over the Katoomba Store (even though they are slightly more expensive) because:

1. There is much more parking available due to being in a Westfield Shopping Center
2. They process 120 film and 620 film, automatically offering to return my 620 spool(!)
3. A decent range of Kodak and Ilford film in stock (TMax TMX and TMY, Tri-X 400, Max 400, Ektar 100, HP5+, FP4+, XP2, Delta (Will have to check which speeds)
4. Ilford Ilfosol and Rapid Fixer in stock, even if at a premium price
5. They have a trainee (roughly around my age, so late teens or early 20s) who is in to Analog Photography (I didn't think to direct her to APUG - though I will if she is there on Monday when I go back)
