Peeling leather on Canon AE-1 Program

I have a wonderful Canon AE-1 Program, but the leather is peeling off in some areas. The leather is in great condition otherwise. Can I reglue the leather? If so, what glue should I use?

What are some solutions to this issue. It seems that if I catch it now, I can take care of it before it gets worse.

Pliobond works. Smells like hell and smell eventually goes away.

I'm not sure why I'd want to, but if I did want to remove the leather after using Pliobond, is it removable?

I've not done it, however it was a camera repair person who turned me on to it originally.

Pliobond is a rubber solution. So the cement can be weakened/dissolved again with an organic solvent. Of course that solvent must not attack the leatherette.

Pliobond's a contact cement but coating only one surface works for leatherette.

Do I Coat the camera or the leatherette? Does it matter which?

Pliobond has greatest bondage by applying to both camera and leather ... though it can still be removed.
Putting it on one of the two will still make a good bond but easy to peel off.
... and the smell goes away, eventually.

Plus one on Pliobond, if the covering is really lose, take it off and clean all the bits of old glue off both the camera body and the back of the leatherette, then put the Pliobond on only one surface, if you use it as contact cement and apply it to both surfaces and then let it dry to tackiness it will grab hard and leave you no time for you to position the leather. If on the other hand you just have an edge or corner loose work a little glue into the gap with a toothpick and then hold the cover back in place until the glue sets.
