Pc-512 Borax Starting Times - Starting point times for various films with this simple developer

Some of us have been developing various films with PC-512 Borax developer for the last few years and have established some times you can use as a starting point for your own development process with this developer. I will update and maintain this list as other people submit their results.

Please understand that, like any development times, these are a starting point. You may need to fine tune them...

Thx!

Would love to see Fomapan times when someone has tried it.

Thanks Karl for this resource page, also thanks to Alan and Andrew. I longed for this and requested also. I missed the post since I could not follow due to my preoccupation.

Karl, can you suggest me starting time for double X? I'll be shooting some in near future. I'll definitely try.

Sorry for the late reply! As a rough starting time, I use XTOL times minus 15-20%. That won’t likely be perfect on the first try, but has always produced negatives that were only needing some refinement and not totally unusable.

And on https://www.flickr.com/photos/john_ketelhut/with/54922584448 shooting 1960 Retina Reflex S Model. Just bought a 27.00 Zeiss 512 folder for 120 using Omega D2 VC, I don't have a scanner for uploads. Anybody do scanning to USB. Im in N. California

I am confused, Tower Photo Art. What has your time for Adox C HS II in D23 at 1+3 got to do with Relistan's source of time for his developer Pc512 Borax ?

Isnt PC512 Borax homemade D23?

No, it isn't. As the name itself indicates, PC512 Borax uses Phenidone, Ascorbic Acid and Borax. D23 on the other hand uses Metol and Sodium Sulphite. The two are very different developers. PC512 is a one-shot developer whereas D23 can be reused or replenished or diluted and used one-shot.

As Raghu stated, they are not the same. I mix up and use both developers. They only thing they have in common is that they are both very versatile...and use water :whistling:
