We are offering comments/advice to Rattymouse about his leak but it isn't clear to me what kind of a leak it is. Is it a leak from the lid that has only just arisen after 8 months or is it a split in the tank or top that has occurred?

If it's a split then most of the posts will not address this.

It would be interesting to hear which it is and then later find out what has happened since the helpful intervention of Simon Galley

The leak is coming from behind the red collar (when tank is inverted). The lid is just fine. I can see no noticeable cracks of any kind, inside or outside the tank.

I'm breaking my own rule here .....

The red ring holds the funnel lid in place when it is latched. If the ring leaks, then it may have worked loose from the tank, in which case the funnel lid may not stay latched and you could find the whole thing opening when you pour out the developer.

The red ring is affixed to the tank with adhesive. I had one tank where the adhesive either failed or wasn't put in place in all the necessary locations. A couple of drops of "super glue" fixed it for me.

If you can move the red ring without moving the tank, you have the same problem.

I dont understand this comment.

I havent tried to move the red ring and it has remained motionless on its own. The leak is not large, perhaps 1 cm at most with the rest of the ring showing no leak at all, so any detachment seems localized. That said, I'll keep an eye out for this since what you describe might be coming if the rest of the ring gets progressively worse.
