I have been given a box of x7 FP4 expiration date 99. It has been stored in the back of the fride since it was bought. I needed a box to store exposed negs in but if the film might still be good I'll just use it.

Is it worth keeping or should I just pitch it and keep the box to store exposed negs in before processing?

There is also a box of ektachrome, same size, that was stored with the FP4 in the same refrigerator. Could this be worth keeping too.

I would keep the FP4 and try it out. I use past dated film all the time that I have stored in the freezer and refrigerator then brought it out and let it stand for an hour or so before use. As long as it was sealed properly while in the fridge it should be ok. As for the ektachrome, well try a bit of it and see if it's still good. I have a friend that shoots past dated chrome film all the time and has onlt had a few rolls that had any kind of shift to them.

Don't know about the chrome, but I'd shoot the FP4. I recently "found" 10 rolls of FP4 in my storage shed. I don't remember how it got there, but I remember buying it about ten years ago while in Seattle WA. Receipt still in the bag. It was dated Sept. 1997. It spent ten Idaho winters (-20 deg) and ten summers (85-105 deg) in that storage shed, and after shooting it, I couldn't tell the difference between it and new stuff. It's tough stuff!
