It is sad day that I have to report the passing of my colleague and friend Ron Mowrey. He was a great friend of Photrio. His seemingly endless photographic knowledge will surely be missed.

Very sad news. Sincere condolences to his friends and family.

What a terrific loss for everyone.

His knowledge and personality will be sorely missed on Photrio.

It's always sad to hear that such a generous and kind man has passed away. He will be missed.

I learned a lot from his posts here; mainly how little I know in comparison.

Very sad. I always read Ron's posts. So informative and I learned so much. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.

It is always sad when a valuable long-term member dies. I really knew nothing of the man except what I saw here on Photrio but his unfailing helpfulness underpinned by a vast amount of knowledge was impressive.

Condolences to members of his family whose loss is infinitely greater than ours

I never met him, but he's always generous with his time in responding to my threads on APUG. A huge loss for APUG.

RIP Ron. You will be missed.

I just heard the sad news via Nick Brandreth on Instagram,

Ron was always so generous with his time, patient with those who knew less than he (basically everyone) and diplomatic when the threads got b*tchy. A true gent in every way, who'll be sorely missed.

RIP Ron. My thoughts are with your family and close friends.

I was 'in touch' with him a week (or so) ago in regards to Dr Martin Scott's current physical health due to his somewhat recent hospitalization
Ron assured me he would pass-on my 'supportive "GET Well again" message on his next visit.
I was not even 'aware' that Ron's health was 'less than good'

It's a great loss when someone so kind passes on. A loss made even greater by the extent of the knowledge held within him. My condolences to his family and friends.

Very helpful posts, and if I'm no mistaken, posting right up until the very end. Quite a surprise. Surprises like this are hard on a family. My condolences. Yes, he will be missed.

There was no finer voice here. RIP
