Parts for a super graphic.

So I bit for a super graphic, which turned out to lack the metal hooks on the spring graflok type back that make it hold film holders. So is there anyone out there with the "bits and pieces" I could buy to restore this.

I'm holding the back off my super graphic in my hand. You must mean the chrome top and bottom spring-loaded arms. I'm afraid you're most likely going to have to salvage a back off another camera, or relegate yourself to Grafmatic holders.You're liable to be in for a very long wait for these arms and their springs, and whatever else.

I was in the Air Force in the early 1970's when Graflex Corp. went out of business. Coworkers had friends in the photo field. Being the company went out of business factory parts and service support were no longer available. The photo department was instructed by command to dispose of Graflex Corp. cameras via the salvage system. The salvage system regulations said the equipment had to be inoperative or the repair exceeding a percentage of the piece's value. Some shop chiefs damaged their Super Graphics beyond repair or removed parts before sending them to salvage for disposal. The upper and lower locks were common parts that were removed before sending the cameras to salvage. Not all bases followed this procedure but many did. There are a lot of bodies without the focus panels or the locks in the focus panels. Another reason for a body not to have a focus panel is the user removed it and used a Grafmatic or roll film holder then when they passed the estate person did not know what the panel was or what it fit and disposed of it.

The factory parts numbers are:
36079-G1 Arm Assembly, upper; 36079-G2 Arm Assembly, lower.

Toyo made the Super Graphic at some point (in the nineteen-eighties?). Most parts should be interchangeable. Perhaps to be found in Japan?

Columbus Camera Group in Columbus, Ohio bought-out the last active Graflex repair shop back in the mid 1990s. There used to be enough NOS parts in their basement to practically build a new camera at one time. Probably long gone, but worth contacting them to see if anything remains...

I had a similar issue when I bought my Super Graphic, the Graflok ground glass focus frame off a Cambo/Calumet Cadet will fit and works perfectly. I've since sold my Cadet but that's what I used until finding a back here on this forum via a Wanted advert. I tried various other gg focus frames but that was the only one that would fit.

Toyo bought the rights to the Super Graphic when Graflex ceased operation. They made it for several years until it became too expensive to make.
