Fantastic read, thanks for posting that! I'm a little uncertain about making conclusions about Paris' indifference to humanity from the pictures alone, but it's an interesting story all the same.
 
Wow..... that is a commendable effort.
It is interesting to see how a lot of things are quite the Same/Similar, but some have changed quite a bit.
It was very effective.

I just watched a spooky video about Nazi Germany. They cut from Hitler era Nuremberg to present day, as in your Atget link.
The soundtrack was very chilling as well
 
I skipped the writing and enjoyed the photographs.

But as is common with with the New York Times online offerings, I get the text and about 10% of the pix.

That's all right. I have the Eugene Atget book set from MOMA so I can enjoy his work at leisure whether the interweb works or doesn't.
 
Thank you for this, I saw the spread in this morning's NYT print edition. There were more photographs on the online presentation. Possible I got to see more as I also have an online subscription to the Times.
