Paris -- Atget then -- and 100 years later

Fantastic read, thanks for posting that! I'm a little uncertain about making conclusions about Paris' indifference to humanity from the pictures alone, but it's an interesting story all the same.

Wow..... that is a commendable effort.
It is interesting to see how a lot of things are quite the Same/Similar, but some have changed quite a bit.
It was very effective.

I just watched a spooky video about Nazi Germany. They cut from Hitler era Nuremberg to present day, as in your Atget link.
The soundtrack was very chilling as well

Interesting pictures. Not so sure about his conclusions on Paris or how he reached them.

I skipped the writing and enjoyed the photographs.

Thanks Dave. I am sure it is great.

But as is common with with the New York Times online offerings, I get the text and about 10% of the pix.

That's all right. I have the Eugene Atget book set from MOMA so I can enjoy his work at leisure whether the interweb works or doesn't.

Thank you for this, I saw the spread in this morning's NYT print edition. There were more photographs on the online presentation. Possible I got to see more as I also have an online subscription to the Times.
