I've wondered for a while what effects different developers have on different papers. I understand that different developers can lead to warm tones and cool tones on different papers. I print on Ilford multigrade FB and I was wondering if anyone knows what effect some different paper developers would have on this paper?

Also, what other effects can the developer have on the paper?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, Good question. Go to circleofthesunproductions.com, then to free downloads and find Bruce Barlow's great 3 part saga on 'the great paper & developer shootout'.....you can thank me later...

Check out this (there was a url link here which no longer exists). I think you will find some very interesting stuff. Especially check out post #81, my post on using Moersch SE6 Blue with MGWT. Basically MGWT will be influenced by developers more than say MGIV, but it is all generally subtle. I think the major difference between developers comes into play when it comes to toning.

Absolutely thanking you now! This looks to be an amazing resource, and the section on dry-down just caps it all off.

Very interesting, being able to make MGWT into a cool tone is awesome!

Thank you for the kind words. It's gratifying to think that all that work is still useful.

Fine Art VersaPrint, the usual winner, is still available from the Formulary. I just bought some a couple months ago.
