Pacific Image Prime Film XAs super edition Film Scanner

I just purchased this film scanner from B&H in the US. They had it on sale for $499 US dollars. I was recommended this scanner by another member. Can anyone comment on this scanner and if they have it, how they like it? Does it scan entire strips of negatives (the whole roll) or just smaller strips? I see the side entrance for film on the scanner, but what is the one in the front for- slides? How are the scans off this unit? Also it does have auto focus- correct?

You didn’t check these features out before buying? Or, are they only secondary features that would be nice to have, but scanner meets all your needs.
I bought a Xerox printer/scanner (not for photography), that did not include in its promotional material that a users technical staff is required for installation. Overly complicated, and poorly made. Two malfunctioned and had to be returned. Now on third replacement. Can’t get money back.
My lesson. Read manual first, before buying any electronic or digital equipment.

Oh I read some of the specs before buying, but I forgot if it had AF or not. As I said it was recommended to me. I watched a video on the scanner last night and it helped explain the thing more. My choice was between the Plusteks and this one. The Plustek wasn't fully recommended.
