Pacific image 120 Pro which way the emulsion?

Anybody knows which way the emulsion is supposed to go?
Also any tips and tricks to keep the 120 film flat?

I would place the negatives so that any lettering in the film rebate aligns with the letters on the holder. Looking down at the negative placed in the holder, you should be able to read the 'abc' on the holder as well as the info on the film without changing orientation.

My holder has no lettering.

I'd go for whatever the manual of your unit recommends doing.

Lacking a manual, or in absence of specific recommendations within the manual, I would scan a trustworthy sharp negative of mine two times, emulsion side down and emulsion side up, and compare 100% magnifications of the same detail from both scans side by side on a large monitor. I would then make a choice and stick to that.

That what I was planning to do.
The problem is I have been scanning some Franka Solida II negatives that are not particularly sharp.
So far my 35MM scanned with PI XAS are way sharper which is a little confusing to me.
The lack of autofocus on the pacific Image 120 pro does not give me a lot of confidence.
