The Mountain-laurel is about to explode! It looks like it will be phenomenal this year. So, if you always wanted to photograph it you need to take a ride north from Waterville along Rt. 44. My guess is by next weekend it should be in full bloom.

Also the Mountain-laurel Festival held in Wellsboro, PA is going on all this week.

It' also very abundant in the Berkshire Mountains in MA, and will probably bloom a couple of weeks later. I've seen gigantic, very old, single plant specimens. Great foreground material for landscape photos.
