This is a UV Exposure Box that I made years ago for alternative photography. It’s oversized to have more even coverage for up to 16”x20” images. The light source consists of 15, 24” UV T12 length fluorescent tubes spaced side by side, each about 1/4” apart. So, the actual light coverage is 24 inches deep by 26” wide.

The bottom of the array of tubes is a vertical distance of 3.25” from the surface of the platform seen in the photo. Using my 11”x14” contact print frame as an example, the light source illuminates the negative (or positive?) from a distance of 2.25”, which approximates what is needed for even light coverage.

There are a number of features designed into this light box. The platform extends in and out on bearings, to make it easy to insert and extract the contact print frame into and from the light chamber.

Grounding has been included in the electronics for added safety. Bear in mind, the box is made of wood,

Three, large computer fans on the left are positioned so that they can ventilate both the electronics chamber, and the light chamber at the same time. The fans are turned on using the switch towards the left on the front.

Each fluorescent bulb has it’s own meticulously wired circuit, which is to say, it’s own ballast and it’s own starter. Extra starters and four extra UV T12 bulbs are included as part of the sale. Though, it’s doubtful that they’ll be needed.

The timer seen in the photo is also included in the sale.

Photographers' Formulary sells one with only twelve 24" UV bulbs (without spare bulbs or starters) for $795. And, it's not nearly as nice as or convenient this unit.

Asking $500. Too large to ship; PICKUP ONLY please, in Forest Grove, Oregon.
