This may be a bit late, not sure if you can still get the January issue (it just got here in Hawaii). There is a great B&W article on the desert of Namiba; it was shot on a Hasselblad XPan, TMAX 100 and printed on Ilford Multigrade FB matt. Great images, worth the price of the magazine.

On the subject of magazines, I am just flicking through a copy of Practical Photography from October 2002 and there is a Black and White special by Les McLean on location. Iv'e got a feeling that he is digitally enhancing his Avatar as he does'nt seem to be getting any older!!!

Hmm, I wonder how Les would look with a goatee, or a green spike in his hair.

Notice one thing, most of the articles were shot on film. One of the reasons I like this magazine and always buy it.

And of course, the editorial is all oohing and aaahing about the new 280D UberPixel and how film is so dead, they're running Carbon-14 tests on some of Salgado's negatives... :rolleyes:
Read the copy: it's for the advertisers.

I think you are thinking of "Outdoor Photographer" which is a different magazine.

Yes, there are reviews of digital cameras - there haven't been any new film cameras introduced for sometime now. And there is one Photoshop article. There is a good 35mm SLR and Digital SLR listing in the magazine. The UK magazine is much more balanced than its US counterpart.

I can report that Les in fact drinks draft Rodinal of an evening. This, combined with the amount of MGWT FB he has absorbed by particulate osmosis over the years, means that he is technically archival...

(...and a good job too, as there's only one of him! )

Yes, it is published by the GMC Group in England.
