AS many of you have read Kodak is no longer making paper. BUT due to the long hard work of Michael Smith and Paula Chamlee, they have been able to set up with a paper company a chloride paper that will have the same qualities as AZO
For this to happen we need the support of all AZO users just not a handful and let M&P take the brunt of the finacial burden to get this going. THEY don't need the paper we do. they have enough stock for most of there career.
Please go to this website and help. Here is a insert of the most recent update.

MESSAGE: Delivery date of the new paper is hopefully at the beginning of the summer.

We are now in process of having paper made on the coating machines. We will test that paper and if it is good, we're on the way.

To date, we did have not received enough orders to buy the paper. But between pre-orders and sales of our Azo Portfolio we are just over 60% there. Paula and I are working hard to sell more Azo Portfolios. And yes, we do need more pre-orders.

We needed a certain amount of pre-orders by a few weeks ago, enough to determine that we think we can make it. We felt confident enough to put up our own money. We had to make a large payment. So right now, our money is on the line. No one else's is at risk. We did use money from one pre-order, but money due in from the sale of Azo Portfolios will cover it.

We will take pre-orders up to the time we need to make final payment. We have determined that when we have the paper there will be two-tier pricing. One price for those who placed pre-orders, those who were willing to help us at this critical time. There will be another price for everyone else. No one's money but ours will ever be at risk with this. We encourage any user of Azo paper who has not yet placed a pre-order to do so now.

With all of the abrogation of traditional photographic supplies and materials of late, it gladdens my heart to see someone fighting back against the void.

Best,

Gee, I'd love to, but money's tight -- how to do it?

Well, after racking my frequently underpowered brain, I've come up with a scheme that may just get me the capital I need to place an Azo pre-order.

A few days ago, Dianna and I went poking around the local pawn shops and found a nice Canon A-1 kit with three lenses for US$90 and another Canon FD lens for US$6. We took them home, cleaned them up, ran some film through the camera to verify reasonable function and sold it on ebay for three times what we paid for it. I'll then use that to buy another kit or two and do likewise. Assuming I don't get a bunch of duds in a row, this scheme might get me enough money to place a pre-order with M&P. Hopefully, I can preorder a roll after a few more fruitful transactions.

Most of us can probably recognize a 35mm in good condition when we see one and can test shutters by ear to see if they're not WAY out of wack or just plain totally broke.

Maybe this is something more of us can do scrape up enough cash to place a preorder.

just a thought.
