I'm not an expert on these cameras. But designs I've encountered similar to these were landscape orientation only. If this is important to you, I would check it out prior to purchase.

All the standard format (Half plate, Whole plate, 10x8, 12x10) Vageeswari cameras have backs that can be removed and rotated, I've never seen or heard of one that won't. The cameras are based loosely on Houghton field cameras made at their Indian factory. However they did make wide format landscape cameras in formats like 8"x15" and like modern 6x17, 7x17, 8x20 and other formats you wouldn't expect to be able to rotate the back.
