Hi Guys-

I have a question about your film holder loading procedure. When loading up 4x5 holders with sheets of film, when I am done, if I have not finished the box of film, I put the film back into the box with the box inside the box and close it back up just like it came to me. I then put the whole thing in one of the black bags that paper comes in just be sure that light keeps away. Do you do this, or is this a slightly unnecessary step/concern?

Pat

Place the film in the black bags, paper or plastic, and then put the bag in the inner box, then put the inner box in the outer box.

Pat, not that the extra caution is not a good thing, but I've yet to have any adverse condition take place with merely closing the film back up in the three layer box and removing it from the changing bag. Keep in mind I've never loaded in outdoor light, always inside in subdued lighting. The box of unused film is placed in the fridge crisper. The film I unload in the changing bag also gets placed in similar three layer box and then shipped in padded pouch.

If you leave the unused film in the nested boxes just like you received them, you should be just fine.

I put the unused film back in back bag it came in, then into the boxes and then held closed with a rubber band. Works for me anyway.
