ONWARD: Juried Photography Exhibition at Project Basho - CALL FOR ENTRIES

We are excited to announce the open call for ONWARD, an annual juried photography exhibition. With this juried exhibition we attempt to shed light on new and emerging photographers with unique vision and talent.

Every year we will invite notable a photographer or another professional in the field to select the work for the exhibition. For the inaugural show, we are inviting Andrea Modica to be the juror. Andrea Modica has been consistently creating strong bodies of work and has been actively engaged in educating a new generation of photographers through workshops. This is our very first and small step, but we hope ONWARD will become a corner stone event for emerging photographers in the near future.

The exhibition will take place at the Project Basho Gallery in January 2008. The construction is in the final stage, and this unique and intimate space is awaiting for visually arresting images to be displayed on the walls. Project Basho Gallery will be one of the few in Philadelphia which is dedicated to the medium of photography. This annual event will be one of many ambitious photography exhibits which will take place in our space.

the entrys are in digital format do show the work, but I have to say the final prints are striking compared to looking on a screen.

Announcement of Selected Photographers

Hi,

We have just announced the names of selected photographers on our website. There seems to be a couple of active APUGers in the list. Congratulations!

The exhibition will start on January 10th and runs through until February 24th. The opening reception will be held on Saturday January 12th at Project Basho Gallery.

Hope people will be able to stop by to see these photographs on the walls.
