Film choice is tougher, but probably Superia 400 for its versatility.

I have to say my Nikon F2A w/MD-2, 25-50mm f/4 Nikkor zoom. Trouble is, it's with Sover Wong right now getting a complete makeover!

OK. If I had to use only one camera here it is. Rolleiflex 2.8E (1956-59). This camera has a built in light meter. With the Rolleinar 1,2 and 3 I can focus down to 9 inches from the subject. With the Rollikin adapter I can use 35mm, or the usual 120 film. Well maybe another would be Linhof Tech IV. 100mm lens. With the bellows extention I can get even closer to the subject. I can use roll film backs for 120 in 6x6, 6x7 or 6x9 format. Or the 4x5 format. I can also get great definition from the Polaroid 55 film (gives you a 4x5 negative) for instant neg and print (well you have to bathe the neg for permancy). But I would need a meter for the Linhof and its a lor heavier than the Rollei. I guess I can't make up my mind!

The Nikon FM2n with the 50 f/1.8 simply because the meter works a bit better than the one in the Nikkormat FT2 or the Nikon F2, though in truth I'd be happy with either one. Neither requires batteries and if push comes to shove, I can guess exposures pretty well with most B&W and C-41 films. Couple any of those bodies with the venerable 50mm f/1.8 lens and the rarely used Vivitar 283 and I'm good to go. Sure, I'd miss some of the other lenses in my arsenal; but truth be told, the 50mm lens sees the most use of all.

Since this is the only camera I have used for the last 30 years, easy choice. Nikon F2SB w/MD2 motor, Zoom-Nikkor 50-300mm f/4.5 ED, Vivitar 283. Plan to use it for the next 30.

If I could only save a 35mm I'd save the Pentax K2 and a 50f1.8. I use that lens primarily anyway.

All the LF photos on my site have been made with one lens... granted two backs and a split slide. I find it quite freeing to have only a couple of lenses with me, it keeps me focused on the seeing.

Whatever format, I'd save my "normal" lens for sure.

I have actually come to resent much of my gear so this is an easy one. The normal lens on any of my RFs will do nicely.

And if the "black hole" sweeps around I will save LeicaR8+100macro and will try to steal NikonF6+85d (or other way around), or I will jump into the hole.

I would have to take my Canon T-70 and my old style FD 50mm 1.4 lens. Their built so much better than my other 35mm plasticized cameras made in the 90's. Plus the camera uses AA batteries so I know I can get batteries anywhere. Then I guess I would try to save my 100ft rolls of APX-100 since its not made anymore. The flash can go down with the ship I almost never use it.

This is NOT a challenge!

In 2005 I was in Bel-Air Camera in West Los Angeles with my girl friend buying a strobe for my daughter who was taking a photography class in high school. This particular day, Bel-Air Camera was having a big sale with representatives from Nikon, Cannon, Leica, ... [the usual suspects]. There was a wheel of fortune which you could win t-shirts, $5 off, $25 off, $50 off, ... and one Tameron f3.6 28mm to 300mm AF lens. The wheel was set on the only prize which was not duplicated => the Tameron f3.6 28mm to 300mm AF lens. My girl friend was asked to spin the wheel at least one complete revolution. She said that she did not need a lens. The people running the demostration said she had nothing to lose; the customers started to chant. She spun the wheel. It took exactly four revolutions and ended up ton the Tameron f3.6 28mm to 300mm AF lens! She said what am I going to do with the lens. I said, "Now I owe you big time." I brought a Nikon to go with the lens.

I now shoot 50 rolls of 36 exposure film a year.

So the challenge to shoot five photographs a day is not a challenge for either.

Does it annoy any of you when a thread gets necro-bumped?
I like the idea of this challenge, and saw something like it on RF (but they were talking about going a full year with the same camera/lens). When I get my Canonet fixed, I'll probably want to spend at least a month with it exclusively, just to get to know her a little better.

That is hard question that I ask myself every time I go out. It is difficult to choose from my 3 cameras.
Minolta SRT 101 with a 58mm 1.4 MC lens.
Minolta XD11 with a 35mm MD lens, or
My Nikon FM3A with a 50mm Nikkor AIS 1.4 lens.
It is always difficult to decide. I love them all.

Canon F-1 and 50mm f/1.2 S.S.C. Tough choice between that and a Nikon F. I would pick the Nikon if I had the 50mm f/1.2 for it.
