I've been using my EOS Rebel XSi almost exclusively for a couple years now, and while it's been fun, there was something amiss. Today, my wife found my Nikon FM10, which I picked up a few years ago before I went digital... to learn on, buried in the dogs' supply bin. How it got there, I have NO idea. There were a few frames left on the Fuji 400 film, so I burned 'em at the park while my 4 year old flew her Spongebob kite. I also have the temporary use of a Yashica 24, along with one roll of 100 Tri-X, which I've loaded but haven't used yet. I'm looking forward to it, though. Those big bright ground glass viewfinders are something else!
The same guy who handed me the Yashica also showed me his Crown Graphic. Whoa. The contact prints he showed me from that camera were out-freaking-standing. I got a thrill that my nice digital camera never did give me, and there was something... indescribable about tripping the shutter on even the "low-end" FM. I may never do much with large format, but working with fine grained b&w 35mm and maybe an inexpensive 120 camera is really appealing to me right now.
Background note... I have developed film before, though I've never made prints from 'em. Gave away my tank and other stuff when I moved from Bama to AR.
