I am the owner of an Omega D5 XL enlarger which I need to ship across the globe. It would save some space if I could separate the "head" from the column for easy transport. Is that advisable or am I making life very difficult for myself when reassembly is required? Any tips for disassembling the thing? Thanks in advance! s.

If you decide to try disassembling the enlarger, BE CAREFUL with the tensioning springs...they are powerful and can be dangerous. 😳
I replaced a pair on my enlarger a year ago...very carefully.

Whether or not you disassemble, you will still need to check the alignment and the new location.
