I'm getting ready to use my d2v for the first time, and I was tinkering with it last night. I bought a set of kodak polymax filters with the enlarger when I bought it, but now that I look at it I'm not sure where to put the filters.

It doesn't look like there is a filter drawer per se, can you simply put them in the spot where the variable condensor lens goes (below the light source)? They seem to fit there pretty well.

Thanks.

Before I purchased the Aristo VCL 4500 head I have now, I used filters with a D2v and I placed them under the lens without any bad visual effects. I was using a set of Kodak polycontrast filters that had a little gizmo that attached itself to the lens. It allowed me to slide the filters into the gizmo and have my hands free to do other things when making an exposure.

yeah--that's where they go--pretty on top of the variable condenser, or if it's removed, in that chamber more or less between the lamp & the condensers underneath...

hi david:

dkt hit the nail on the head!
i have a kodak filters, but it is a polymax set and it is clamped underneath the lens.

they are probably not as good as larger filters that go close to the light source, but they seem to work okay for me
