Omega D2 - I need help

Could somebody tell me the correct position of the plastic peace on picture?

The gallery I work with has a D2, and I can have a look sometime this weekend, and let you know what I find. It looks like it locks the lower rod that holds the lamphouse assembly into the slot. It's been some time since I had that part of an Omega apart.
