Any idea if the back doors on the XA and the XA2 are interchangeable? I've got a real nice XA2 with a crappy back and a dusty XA with a nice back :smile: I like the XA2 better so I would like to keep the improved XA2 and sell off the XA :smile:

No. But at one time Olympus service centres changed backs if the latch was not serviceable or something else warranted exchange.
It is not a DIY job.

The XA2 was not an "improved" version, just a less specified variant of the original, full-featured XA.

They look to me to be identical. It appears that the hinge pin is just retained by a little nub on the bottom plate. If you remove the bottom plate you should be able to slide out the pin.

Give it a try and let us know how it works.
