I can recommend this type of camera. It is compact, has a great lens and a very good light meter.
I always carry one in my pocket just incase I need a camera. I recently even bought me a second one and keep it loaded with B&W film in my camera bag. It's fixed focus 35 mm lens, just my style for point & shoot.
