Who would you send a classic mint condition OM1 for light seals and mirror bumper pad replacement? Someone who will respect the condition of the camera but do that messy work of removing the sticky seals. This OM1 camera looks like it came from a dealer brand new. I’d like to “try” to keep it that way.

I could do the seals in the back of the camera but I’d prefer to not mess around with the bumper pads around the mirror, so I figured send it out to a pro.

Thanks folks.

I can't think of anyone in the US other than John Hermanson, Camtech Photo Services ( http://www.zuiko.com/ ). He is the PRO! He's done two OM-1s, an OM-2 and an OM-4T. Excellent.

Yea, Hermanson is THE film OM guy. But replacing foam isn’t a terribly big deal- I would think any competent camera repair person could perform this task.

Thank you for the recommendations. Made contact and he said he doesn’t do partial work. Which is fine. Prices are reasonable and the camera can have new style battery mod. And anything else he might find.

As for doing light seals myself, I’ve done many on cameras that didn’t need them near the mirror. I didn’t want to take the chance of messing up that area of the camera.

Appreciate the comments. I haven’t had a OM camera in years and couldn’t pass up a mint in box camera. Everything looks to work fine enough to shoot but the seals are shot.
