Hi all! Ran into a problem that I'm having no luck solving otherwise-- had to come to the forums.
Working on a 35RD that I was able to scoop up for cheap ($5!!!)-- I've already tackled the notorious sticky shutter blades, but weirdly enough ran into a problem with the actually shutter mechanism acting up. Maybe there was some damage as a result of the previous owner trying to force the shutter to operate/film to advance etc, but I'm having no luck getting it to fire even though everything seems to actuate fine. My biggest concern is a spring that looks damaged that looks like it would communicate between the film advance gears and the actually shutter mechanism. I came to ask if anyone who may have a 35RD or similar Olympus rangefinder to potentially take a quick peek at their shutter mechanism and maybe send a few closeup shots of it so I can try to compare what Im working with. I've tried watching a few disassembly videos and even some assembly diagrams, but so far its been pretty difficult to pin down these few details.
Thanks all & please be patient with me-- this is driving me crazy! Ill attach a few pictures to see if anyone can spot a slip up off the bat
