Olympus 35 EC2

Hello All,
I have picked up an Olympus 35 Ec-2 and have a question. I am having a problem with the batteries. I have done the tinfoil trick and it seemed to work but then found an adapter for sale on eBay. Now i can't seem to get the camera to fire at all. Has anyone else used this adapter

I would check the resistance on the camera, clean contacts, it worked before. Could be that you shorted it when using foil.
