It's been a year since I ditched the digital, and got back on the analog track.
I was so disgusted with digital, that I went right back to the 4X5 !
Maybe I should have started out with the Pentax 110 system first.
So I packed up the camera box, and tripod and went to Connetquot Park.
Got out of the car, grabbed the box and the tripod, and made it about 20 feet.
And ran out of energy, the damn box and tripod weighs almost 50 pounds.
I knew that eventually I would have to get a handtruck, or red wagon to haul stuff.
But, while APUG was being upgraded, I joined ELFPA.Org,
European Large Format Photographers Association, and got a great idea from one
of the members. Scott Edwards was using a jogging stroller to haul his gear around.
It was the perfect solution to my problem, they are lightweight, compact, and pneumatic tires
allow for easy rolling over most terrain. I jumped over to CraigsList, and found a few
used jogging strollers for sale, I called about a unit selling for $50.00, and arranged to
pick it up the next morning, but later got a call that the sale was canceled.
Luckily the next week I found another stroller for sale, and they even gave me a brand
new Fedora to go with it. Now I have the camera box and tripod strapped to the stroller.
And gave it a test drive through Belmont State Park, did almost two miles effortlessly !
If only it had an air conditioner, and satellite radio ! I can't handle the Hot Summery weather.
I'll be back from vacation on September 12th., and ready to enjoy Autumn.
Hopefully we can schedule a few sessions next month to get out and shoot some sheets,
and shoot some breeze. So find a jogging stroller or other suitable gear transportation,
And Lets Get Ready To Roll !
