What's everyone doing for sync-less shutters? Any good workarounds other than bulb and manual firing? Thanks.

It isn't difficult for a repair technician to add sync to an older shutter.

I have a front mounted leaf shutter, similar to a Luc shutter, that I use for my large portrait lenses (some shutterless, some with Studio shutters), and I had Frank Marshman add sync to it. I think it cost around $60-80 for the conversion including a CLA on the shutter a few years ago.

Thanks a bunch, great suggestions. A microswitch...sounds very cool.

David, that seems like a bargain. Is Marshman still camerawiz at msn dot com? I'd heard that Grimes and others weren't doing this work anymore. Thanks.

My work may be different than yours, but in general I've never had much problem with opening the shutter on B or T and firing the flash manually then closing the shutter.

Marshman should still be at that address or call 1-800-471-8133.
