I have some raw chemicals from the photographer's formulary. A bottle of Potassium Carbonate, Anhydrous, 1lb but I've used some of it, not too much, over half left. Also a bottle of Sodium Chloride, 100g, I've also used some, not much. Free to whoever PMs me first. I'd like $6 for shipping in the US only.

GONE!!!

Oh yes, they do. Not all thrift stores are that ethical. The other day I was in my local Goodwill and I saw a Minolta Maxxum that was literally covered in soap scum and that had a lens that was covered in fungus and they were still trying to sell it. It had obviously been dropped in a bathtub and wrecked, no way it worked and yet it was still on the shelf. I've also bought a couple of cameras and flashes online from Goodwill that turned out to be total duds and had a lens arrive with mega fungi. No mention of it at all in the listing.

So yeah, they can and do sell stuff that doesn't work. I read the ads very carefully and look at all the pics. If I am in the store I test things out as much as possible but I'm always aware that I could be spending my money on junk too. If in doubt, I just don't buy, shrug.

Just curious, does Goodwill and other thrifts take it if it know as broken or not working?

Nothing spectacular, just some M42 screw mount stuff:

Zenit E - Shutter second curtain doesn't always close so spares or repair.

Tokina 135mm f3.5 lens - Surplus to requirements as I now have a 135mm Zeiss Sonnar with M42 mount (not being offered!).

Russian 135mm f4 lens - manually stopped down, no auto iris pin on this one.

Just pay postage by Paypal, cheque, cash carried in the beak of a carrier pigeon, etc.

Reply here or send P.M.

film recorder & MF projector: p/u in SW Michigan

A colleague recently donated some camera equipment to the Photo area here at work but we declined to accept a Beseler Slide King Projector w/10” lens and a Lasergraphic Slide Recorder due to space limitations. I told him I would pass along the information on the forum. He is looking to give the items away to someone who will use the equipment (rather than resell it). It is available for pickup only (no shipping) in SW Michigan in the Kalamazoo area. Please contact me via PM and I will pass your information on to him.

Here's what he has:

Beseler Slide King Projector w/10” lens sn = E8486X
With 8 slide frames sizes: 35mm, 2 ¼, and 3 ¼ slides
Operator instruction booklet
Spare bulb #DDB-DDW 750W
In metal storage box: 11”H x 31”L x 8 ½”W

Lasergraphic 35mm Slide Recorder: Powerpoint TO Ektachrome
(2) Lasergraphic LFR Mark II optic asy. - each with SCSI interface ports
Adaptec EZ-SCSI PC Interface PCBA with cables and Reference booklet
(2) Lasergraphic SmartLoader
(3) Smartback cameras
(3) Lasergraphic User guidebooks – each with software disks
Lasergraphic SmartLoader User guidebook
(37) rolls of EPP-135-36 Ektachrome film – date codes 2003
All stored in original manufacturers foam lined boxes

He also has a box of used Nalgene bottles in various sizes and quite a few Kodak Carousel slide trays to give away.

Note: I don't know if he wishes to break the package up but if so, someone already has dibs on the 37 rolls of EPP.

I was given a Canon T70 and promised to pass it along to someone who would appreciate it. I put a roll of film through it and it's just fine. Will do as a starter, a backup, or a beater.

Pretty standard package includes T70 body, Canon FD 50mm f/1.8, Vivitar 80-200mm f/4 w/macro. All caps. No strap or bag or UV filters.

I'll say $15usd to ship in North America, but will donate any excess back to Sean.

A couple of "vintage" photography books that may be of casual interest:

Kodak Professional Photoguide, 1975 printing

The First Book of Photography by John Hoke, 1965 (seems written in part for young adults, but not consistently)

Just pay shipping from 55441. Can mail book rate, but it may take a few days to get to PO.

I'd be interested in the Kodak book. PM sent.

Free...
Darkroom sink.
Approximately 8'X26"x16"
Home-made of wood covered with epoxy and painted. Plumbing is attached. I picked it up on craigslist for free, and it is too large for me.
Must be able to pick-up from west Toronto. I'll help loading - its heavy.

Old 4x5 film (E-6 and C-41)

Old 4x5 film:

50 sheet box of Vericolor III, dated 1988
50 sheet box of Ektachrome 200, dated 1985

Each seems "mostly full" based on weight. I just got this film with some other film. I was told it's been frozen most of it's life, but obviously I can't guarantee (besides, it's free).

Just pay actual shipping from 56468.

Black XL rail set for Beseler 23C
This was rescued from our local recycle center. The rails are straight, and the carriage moves freely, however the crank handle is broken off. You'd need to use the crank from your current 23C, or else buy one.
Free for shipping cost from U.S. North East.
Note, this is just the rails and the carriage assembly, no head, no baseboard.

Free stuff

There seems to be little activity on this topic. I have a bunch of stuff that needs to be living somewhere else and will post a few things over the next few months. JUst sent about 25 rolls of 35mm film to a list member yesterday that I knew I wasn't going to use. Among other things it included 10 rolls of Velvia 100 and yes, even a roll of Velvia 50. It wasn't posted here but was offered off list. Just wondering what would happen for each of us if we increased the circulation of little or never used gear. Bill Barber

Okay -- Brownie Super 27, 4 rolls of fresh Efke 127 b/w 100asa film, a pack of ag-1 flashbulbs, and a used but serviceable 127 tank and reel. Camera is user grade and makes nice 4x4 negatives. Also can re-spool 35mm and shoot through the sprocket holes.

First subscriber to reply and pm with address gets this. Free.

Way to go! Maybe some more stuff will start circulating. I've got too much "one day, someday" stuff and projects that I need to let go of to release my creativity and create space for good stuff to happen. I'm a betting man and I bet there are many more just like me. Let the flow begin. Just look at it as "paying it forward." Bill Barber
