This morning I'm looking at some prints I made last night. A few were from FP4 negatives from the mid 80's and a few from recent FP4+, all developed in Perceptol. To my eyes there's a distinct difference, especially in the higher midtones. The older neg's definitely captured more detail around zones 7-8. Or it might just be nostalgia.

Can anyone recommend a current film that might approach the characteristics of the old emulsion? Looking at my tests from old and new, it seems the older version was somewhat more friendly to expanded/contracted development - less time difference between -1 & +1 for instance.

Cheers!
