Having been an analogue man since iso was asa I have had a bit of a gap with film development since 2017. I have since been using digital on a business basis. Now I feel the need to slow down and I have a particular project I want to work on. Of course I still have the old chems dating back to the last use in 2017 - I even have a dozen rolls of APX 25 squirrelled away from the 1990s. Obviously film costs have gone up a great deal since then, so I'd rather not be developing films to find out if the chemicals are any good. So, I'm wondering which of these chemicals it will be okay to use. They've all been stored in a cool building with subdued light.

HC110 in an unopened litre bottle
Neutol
Ilfotec DD-X
unopened Tannol A and B
Tetanol superfix plus
Tetanol indicet stop (presumably the colour will tell me)
Tetanol Superfix odourless unopened
Selenium toner
Galeria washaid
Rodinal

I'm expecting the last four to be fine - and I have read stories of 1920s Rodinal being used.

Thanks for reading
John

The HC-110 should be fine - what colour is it?
Check to make sure that the fixer hasn't sulfured out - probably not, if it is "odourless".
The Rodinal will depend on which version and the integrity of the container.
And welcome back.

Thanks Matt. That's a nice reply!

The neutol, ddx and rodinal may or may not work; it's a gamble. Easy enough to figure out, especially the neutol which is the least critical of the lot. The rest is likely just fine!

Hc110 should be fine. I run old APX 25 in Hc110 at ASA25, 1:41, 20C for 8-10 minutes depending on how much contrast you want.

On any analogue photo forum "old developers" are very important. By and large they can usually supply the necessary answers

Sorry, couldn't resist

Yes I would fall into that category

DDX almost certainly dead.
Rodinal may be ok. Agfa one would be fine but a Rollei/Compard one is a gamble (my compard from ~2010 is still ok but others have died within 3yrs).
HC110 is more than likely fine.
