I've been using a Rolleicord for the past 3 years and have only just discovered a normal camera strap fits it!!! Oh the joy when I discovered you don't *need* a special strap that fits the little hook, a normal one works fine!!!! I've fitted a Nikon strap for the mean time until I get hold of an UpStrap for it...

Do not feel bad or embarrassed. That is a very simple thng, and it should not get in the way of your enjoyment of the camera and taking photographs with it -- the last point is the goal, after all.

I do not just do photography. As the radio guy for a local ski patrol, last night I was told about a radio that did not work properly when it was picked up by a patroller just that morning. "It did not transmit," was the complaint. I looked at the radio, turned the dial to the normal ski patrol frequency, and transmitted. On frequency. And I could be heard. They did thank me for one of the shortest repair times I had provided.

This kind of a thing happens. Keep it in mind when you are having an after dinner activity with some friends. Relating it then will seem to be much more amusing.

I don't feel bad about it, in fact I laughed my a$$ off when I realised - all the time I've had it and I never worked it out - WTF??
