I just purchased this lens cheap - thought it looked cool, and the thought of maybe having a lens with some different charactheristics than other large format lenses that i have.

complete engraving is : Officine Galileo Aerostigmat 250/4.5 Brevetto (258861)- and the lens has serial 108867.

Does anyone have any information about this lens ?

Here´s a picture

Although I do not know for certain, most likely this lens is from an aerial mapping camera made by Galileo Santoni of Florence, Italy. It is an unusual focal length for a mapping camera, so it may be for something else.
