The G2 Gallery Opens Off the Beaten Path: Views from Yosemite
Multi-Artist Exhibit Presents Unique Photographs of Yosemite National Park in Honor of its 125th Anniversary
On View Sept. 29Nov. 15, 2015 | Reception Oct. 3, 6:309:00 PM
Venice, CAOn September 29, 2015, The G2 Gallery will premiere Off the Beaten Path: Views from Yosemite, a photography exhibit in honor of the parks 125th anniversary featuring both renowned artists and talented hobbyists.
Off the Beaten Path is the latest of several multi-artist, open-submission exhibitions put on by The G2 Gallery in 2015. Featuring more than a dozen artists from all over the United States, the show started with a public call for entries.
The idea was to build a show celebrating a public national treasure by getting as many new perspectives as possible from our pool of talented former exhibitors, but also the general public, says G2 Director Jolene Hanson. We received hundreds of worthy submissions.
Among the photographers in Off the Beaten Path are North American Nature Photography Association Lifetime Award Winner Clyde Butcher, filmmaker Jason Fitzpatrick, whose documentary Mile Mile & a Half screened at the 2014 G2 Green Earth Film Festival, Amy Lane, who has worked on the NFL Super Bowl gallerys photo restoration project, and Ansel Adams, the most famous nature photographer of the 20th century.
The full list of 33 featured artists: Ansel Adams, T.C. Badalato, Peter Baumgartner, Robin Black, Clyde Butcher, Carol Caley, Michael Caley, Jason Fitzpatrick, Michael Frye, Franka Gabler, Michael E. Gordon, Eric Hanson Phil Hawkins, Robb Hirsch, Rick Kattelmann, Matthew Kuhns, Amy Lane, Joel Landson, Ron LeValley, Andrew Macrae, Jennifer MaHarry, Stephen Montalto, Marc Muench, Vidya Narasimhan, Nolan Nitschke, Ian Shive, Cheyne Walls, Buddy Weiss, Don Whitebread, Art Wolfe, xRez Studio, Shin-Yee Yau, Ted Yeager and Mark Zborowski.
