This has to be an old issue, but the forum search produced very little.

What is the best lab in Manhattan to send film for development? I try to develop most of the difficult film myself, but 80 rolls at a clip is becoming tedious. The APUG links pointed me towards MV and 86 Degrees. My needs are standard 120 film and contact development for Pan F Plus and Acros. No printing needed, and turnaround is not of great concern.

call Patricia Katchur at 68 degrees....they do all my 120 and do the contacts when I am in town! they can dunk them all at once, have the equipment from the Sydney Olympics set up down on broadway, can do hundreds of rolls at a time, clean work I recommend....

Spectra is very uneven. It depends on who is managing the particular branch you use at any particular time.

For B&W 68 degrees is good and so is MV labs. Also for B&W Kenneth Taranto is very good.

For many years I've used Modernage for color work. I'm finding them a bit uneven lately for LF E-6 film--I just don't think they do the volume they once did, but they're fine for 35mm and MF, and their customer service is excellent.

Lately I've been using Duggal, which used to be notorious for bad customer service if you weren't a big customer, but recently I've found them okay, and they do enough volume of E-6 sheet film to maintain a very high standard of work.

I use Modernage (modernage.com) and have been very happy with them.

Try Praus, they are one of our sponsors. They are not in NYC, but do good work and have really great turnaround time.

I do almost all my own B&W, so I can only pass on the recommendations of friends - and they use Imagination for B&W. 333 Park Ave Sth between 24th and 25th.

As we are on the subject, here are my other suggestions.

E-6: Duggal or Flatiron (110 W. 17th St. 212 633-9191)

C-41: Imagination or Print Space on 19th between 6th and 7th, near 7th. Anybody wanting to print, or develop their own B&W, who doesn't have their own facilities should check them out. And 16x20 Chromiras for $16, but I can't mention that here.
