Some excellent photographs -- I especially like the one of the two women, one man, one child all lined up and all looking in different directions.

Gotta look quick, I saw 3 of them before they shut me down. Got to subscribe.

If you go into "Incognito" mode, you can bypass the paywall. It's just a suggestion.

Thanks, the shots of kids in various scenarios are especially priceless, in the metaphorical and literal sense of the word. I fear we will never be able to see such scenes again and if we did, modern photographers with what the average person assumes as base and commercial motives or worse would be "hounded out" . It is one thing to have had a neighbourhood photographer that people knew who relied on analogue and another to have everyone with an i-phone and the ability to circulate anything round the world in seconds.

Technology and its consequential "zeitgeist" has made us "poorer"

Since I am not a subscriber to The New York Times, I could only read the beginning of the article.

A pity. All that obstructed me was a small section at the bottom of the page that invited me to subscribe but it did not seem to interfere with pictures or article. The last picture I was able to access was three African-Americans leaning on a litter bin or similar bin with a black cat crossing just behind them. I think this was all the pictures there were so I think I had access to the lot.

I suppose it may be that I was granted access without subscription because it was able to detect my IP address was outside the U.S. but this is simply a theory

How far into the article and pictures were you able to get?

It was nice that you were able to see the whole article via whatever a private page is. I was unsure if you were also saying that from my description of what I saw this was not the full article or set of pictures?

Thanks

I am also confused about what is going on.
I have no Subscription/Membership of any kind with The Times, nor does it ask me.
I click the link and can read an article with about 12 pictures, 3 or 4 in color.
Some of you guys cannot see that much.?

The Times has a pay wall that allows you to visit for a certain number of articles each month, and thereafter requires you to pay.
A lot of people on various sites - Photrio included - post links to Times articles. When you click on one of those links, that counts as your reading one of your free articles.
