Hi All--

I'm thinking about buying a NuArc NL22-8C that's available (relatively) locally. But I'm having a hard time finding any info about it online. I'd like to learn a little more about this unit before I start negotiating.

If anybody out there has one, I'd appreciate some answers to the following questions:

1) Do you have a couple of good pix of it? The couple of small pics that I found make it look like there are dark "windows" that shield the light source from the eyes. The unit I'm looking at seems to be missing these.

2) Does it have an integrator?

3) How big is it in terms of external dimensions and weight? And can the vaccum frame handle 16"x20"?

I'm gonna have to drive a ways to pick this up, and I don't want it to be a wasted trip.

Thanks for any info.

Greg,

I used the NL22-8c at a workshop a few years ago. It has an integrator and vacuum frame and and can handle up to 16X20" prints. I don't know the exact dimensions but it is a fairly compact unit but it certainly takes up a lot less space than the NuArc 26-1k(s) so if you don't plan to print larger than 16X20" it would be a nice UV printer.

Honestly can not recall if the units I worked with had a black curtain. However, lack of one would not be much of an issue as the window is fairly small and could be easily masked with some alternative method, or just left open for that matter.

Thanks for the info, Sandy.

The unit does not currently have a bulb, which seems to go for about $150. Does $150 for the unit seem reasonable, or should I be willing to pay the full $200 that the seller is asking?

Greg,

Given the lack of bulb and the fact that you can not verify that the unit works as is I think $150 is a reasonable offer.

BTW, here is a link to a bulb for $135. You may find one for less by searching.

Well...I missed out on the one I had my eye on. But the more I think about it, the more I like the smaller form factor (compared to the 26-1k or the Amergraph unit). I'll have to keep my eyes open for another.

Thanks for the help and info.
