Now that's what I call a real camera!

I get that when I pull out the Rolleicord.

If you don't your parachute won't open.

And here.

So that's settled then. Rolleicords are real cameras!

Real cameras in Ottawa

I was out and about in Ottawa on Saturday, which was a most beautiful day for photography, with bright sun and only a hint of clouds in an azure sky. I had my Nikon F kit with me, with one body loaded with Kodachrome, and my Leica tucked away with Neopan SS in it.

About 4:00PM I happened upon two young fellows (young = mid twenties) with REAL cameras. One had a Contax G-1, the other a Leica M4-2. They were waiting for a bus, which was late, and we passed about 15 minutes in pleasant conversation about the merits of traditional photography.

OTOH, I had, earlier in the day, photographed two young students from Carleton University, on Kodachrome. They were engaged in collecting for Shinerama, which is the annual fundraising blitz to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research. Neither of them had ever heard of Kodachrome.

You win some and you loose some.
