I quit trying to be different a long very time ago. I just did what I liked without worrying about originality.

You heard the answer years ago.

[h=1]Garden Party Lyrics[/h] "Garden Party" was written by Nelson, Ricky.

I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again
When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name
No one recognized me, I didn't look the same
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
And people came from miles around, everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air
An' over in the corner, much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
Played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came
No one heard the music, we didn't look the same
I said, hello to "Mary Lou", she belongs to me
When I sang a song about a honky-tonk, it was time to leave
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B. Goode
Playing guitar like a-ringin' a bell and lookin' like he should
If you gotta play at garden parties, I wish you a lotta luck
But if memories were all I sang, I rather drive a truck
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
An' it's all right now, yeah, learned my lesson well
You see, ya can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself

The harder people try to look different, the more they all look the same.

Yep. No need to jump through flaming hoops to be different. The inconvenient truth for these people is that by definition they already are uniquely different. That's why fingerprints can send one to jail for a crime.

Some people never learn that simple and liberating truth...

More like inbreeding where they do all share the same DNA and nobody in the whole zip code can be convicted of a crime.

Yes, true.

But the only reason they try to look different is that what they really want is to FEEL different.

To feel special.

They want to be a part of the tribe, but still special.

Drew, I always found you to be an incredibly interesting character or one hell of a bullshitter.

Still not sold on which one I believe, for what it's worth.

But either or, it's still entertaining.

Ha ha, Blansky... look who's talkin'. I do enjoy your posts though!! :D

It's not always all about you, really.

If I say it wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular, you can believe me.

"As far as I am concerned, taking photographs is a means of understanding which cannot be separated from other means of visual expression. It is a way of shouting, of freeing oneself, not of proving or asserting one’s own originality. It is a way of life."

I pay attention to the last part especially.
