Hello from Central Missouri!
I purchased a Minolta SR-T 102 here locally around September last year. I shot a couple rolls, learned how to develop B&W as well as C-41, & life has been good. I even got my Minolta CLA'd by John Titterington in Kansas City, and it has been perfect!
I went to buy a tripod from facebook marketplace a couple months ago and stumbled upon a treasure trove of someone's lifetime collection of film photography equipment! Two Hasselblads and lenses (all need a CLA), a Pentax 6x7, two Sinar 4x5 large format cameras + a slew of lenses... Point and shoots, filters, just so much STUFF. There was a besseler color enlarger that also needs cleaned up and tested as well.
Needless to say I have been blessed with gear that I never thought I would touch and am very grateful for it. Now I start my journey to learn! I recognize that it would take me years to get to the level of competently using some of this gear. I have already done some transactions on the reddit community /r/photomarket, and I'm excited to find this community too so that I can help get more of this equipment to the people who will put it to good use! I much prefer direct connections to the ebay runaround. So I've kept a few things that interest me for myself and my future children and now my plan is to hopefully put the rest on classifieds here in the coming weeks.
As for what I'm currently into:
I'm learning how to do a direct-positive process on paper with the 4x5, which I recently made a post on an old thread I found via Ethan Moses' youtube channel. I'm actively shooting with my Minolta and a Olympus XA as well. I would love to get the Hasselblads/Pentax 6x7 up and running this summer too! I also have tried to "mentor" local newcomers by developing their film for them so they didnt have to send it off to a lab for their first test roll of a thrift store camera they picked up.
I'm really happy to be here, and thank you all in advance for your support!
