Hi! This is I suppose technically an instant film question, but as it's for a medium format camera and this forum gets a lot more traffic, I figure it's better to ask it here.
Has anyone ordered a NONS back since tariff mania hit us, and did you get charged import duties? If so, how much did they run you?
I'm thinking about ordering the new Hasselblad back during the presale period that ends shortly, as it appears they've addressed the issues with the black borders and the orientation of the image, so that it now looks like something I'd want to have a little fun with on my 500CM.
To decide if it's really worth it, It would be nice to know what I should anticipate when the back hits our shores, and if I'm going to have to pay 346% or something else insane in import duties--which of course would make it untenable.
(I'm already a bit gun shy--NONS uses some dodgy delivery services here in the US. I actually ordered the previous version of their back several months ago, and the driver attempted to deliver it to the school I teach at...on a Sunday. He didn't just leave it, it was marked for a redelivery attempt, but at that point the item simply disappeared in the delivery chain somewhere and could not be located. At least NONS did refund me completely for the back and shipping when that happened,)
Thanks for any information you can provide! It used to be so easy to order things from abroad and know what you were going to pay in total when you placed the order, sigh.
